Alec Baldwin is biding adieu to Hollywood and for real this time, not just though. He will quit as soon as he is done with a few things like co-hosting next year’s Oscars, stops being a prime time magnet for the Golden Globe and the Emmy and decides he has had enough of being one of small screen’s biggest success in years. Then it is over for Baldwin.

The 51 year old actor has said that he will be ready to pack his bags and leave as soon as his contract with 30 Rock expires in 2012. He said he was not interested in acting anymore and considers movies to be a thing of his past. He added that though he wasn’t young he still had time to do something else. What that other thing would be he did not say but some speculations have been doing the rounds that he might take up politics.

He said that though it might be difficult for him to say but he firmly believes that his entire movie career is a failure. For him the goal of making a movie is to deliver a performance which would drive the movie to a soaring commercial or critical success and he has never had that in his career.
